Step 1 — Battery
- Lay the laptop upside down.
- Locate the two battery lock tabs.

Step 2
- Slide the tabs outward to unlock the battery.
- The left tab will remain unlocked, while the right tab must be held.
- Holding the right tab open, slide the battery towards you to remove.
Step 3 — Laptop Keyboard
- Locate the 4 metal latches in the battery cavity and pull the latches out using the plastic opening tool.
- The latches cannot be removed completely, so do not apply too much pressure on the latches as they may bend.

Step 4
- Turn the laptop over and open it
- Use plastic opener tool to lift keyboard up off of the laptop
- Do not completely remove the 1005HA keyboard just yet. A ribbon connects the underside of the keyboard to the laptop.

Step 5
- Lift up the pins on either side of the ribbon connector and then detach ribbon
- Remove the Asus keyboard
