Installing Asus Eee PC 1005HA Keyboard

Step 1 — Battery

• Lay the laptop upside down.

• Locate the two battery lock tabs.

Step 2

• Slide the tabs outward to unlock the battery.
• The left tab will remain unlocked, while the right tab must be held.
• Holding the right tab open, slide the battery towards you to remove.

Step 3 — Laptop Keyboard

• Locate the 4 metal latches in the battery cavity and pull the latches out using the plastic opening tool.

• The latches cannot be removed completely, so do not apply too much pressure on the latches as they may bend.

Step 4

• Turn the laptop over and open it
• Use plastic opener tool to lift keyboard up off of the laptop
• Do not completely remove the 1005HA keyboard just yet. A ribbon connects the underside of the keyboard to the laptop.

Step 5

• Lift up the pins on either side of the ribbon connector and then detach ribbon

• Remove the Asus keyboard
